My hobby is film history which is what is leading to much of what you're going to see here. Years ago, I was struck by the tragedy of Bobby Driscoll's death. At the time, I felt that this was an abberation; I couldn't believe that the children who give so much of themselves to entertain others could be abandoned by Hollywood ... and the public ... the way Bobby was.
This led me to start studying films with an emphasis on the child actors. I found that Bobby's treatment is actually quite common. This is a tragedy of extreme proportions. Based on this, I have started the YES-LIST and associated web pages. If this in terests you, you're welcome to join us.
That's an imaginative phrase for a web page, isn't it? Seriously, that is true in a major way for what's happening here. The AMC area will be growing constantly based on the information they give us. There are some very exciting things happening to correct some of the inequities the children have experienced over the years. All of this will be chronicled in these pages, along with ideas of how people can help. Please, keep checking back to see what's going on in these areas.
I intend to spotlight various young actors for their accomplishments. Hollywood has a tendency to ignore the kids des pite their very strong track record of good performances (this is changing, too. With the Youngstar awards, Hollywood finally started recognizing the young ones.) In these pages, I will be recognizing young actors ... past and present ... for what they've given to entertainment.
